Northlane has announced its seventh studio album, Anemoia, for release October 30.

The Australian heavy-music band introduced the album with “CUT_it,” a new single centered on physical and mental burnout. An official music video arrived alongside the announcement.

Vocalist Marcus Bridge described the song as a portrait of continuing to push through work and responsibility after the body and mind are already depleted. The track’s visceral imagery reflects exhaustion rather than explaining it from a distance.

A new chapter after “Evian”

“CUT_it” follows “Evian,” which Northlane released earlier in 2026. Both songs will appear on Anemoia, the band’s first full-length release since Obsidian.

The new material retains Northlane’s combination of low-tuned heaviness, electronic production and melodic contrast while moving toward a colder, more immediate sound. “CUT_it” shifts between clipped rhythmic passages and a larger chorus without releasing the pressure established in its opening moments.

Northlane’s evolving heavy sound

Formed in Sydney, Northlane built an international audience by expanding metalcore’s conventional framework with electronic textures, ambient passages and increasingly experimental production.

The band’s catalog includes Discoveries, Singularity, Node, Mesmer, Alien and Obsidian. Each era has changed the balance between technical heaviness, industrial sound design and Bridge’s melodic range.

The title Anemoia refers to nostalgia for a time a person never experienced. Northlane has not yet disclosed the complete track list or all supporting tour plans for the album.

Preorders for Anemoia are open through Northlane’s official channels. “CUT_it” is available now on major streaming services.
